This week we have the full paper for a presentation we featured several weeks ago. Meghan Joy, assistant professor at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) outlines her research on age friendly communities and the different ways austerity fits interacts with this social policy space. Dr. Joy speaks on the gap between the idea of age friendly cities and their implementation in Toronto, highlighting how social policy on aging remains beset with the challenges of a liberal welfare state under structural austerity.
