Economic Advisors in Germany
What is the role of economic advisor networks in German and EU fiscal policy?
May 03, 2018
Hello austerity readers. Today we have a presentation from Moritz Neujeffski of the WZB Berlin Social Science Center on the role of economic advisors in national and supranational fiscal policy in the European Union. Moritz looks at the influence of economic advisors on advisory boards, their ties to think tanks, and their views leading up to significant German and EU fiscal policy changes. His analysis reveals the importance of not just particular ideas, but the networks which connect them to policy makers.
You can find the presentation on our Research Page under 'Ideas and Advocacy'. We'll release the full paper from Moritz in the coming weeks!
