On Employment Quality

How might austerity shape labour market inequality and responses to it?

Feb 14, 2018

Hello Austerity readers, today we have the full paper from Dr. John Peters (Laurentian University) presentation on 'good jobs for all'. Dr. Peters examines the dimensions of labour market inequality in Canada and how structural shifts from standard to non-standard employment (i.e. temporary, part time, part year work) necessitate new public responses along the dimensions of labour law and labour market policy. John then looks at the relationship between possible policy solutions to these labour market dynamics and how they are often undermined by fiscal consolidation.

You can find the paper on our Research Page under 'Labour Markets and Lived Experience'!
