Re-Purposing Public Enterprise

Hello AltAusterity Readers! We hope you are finding time to enjoy the sunshine as we continue social distancing measures. This week we are bringing you a paper by Dr. Heather Whiteside (University of Waterloo) titled, "Re-Purposing Public Enterprise".

Heather presented this paper at our last meeting in February and asked us to consider what ideas, tools, and techniques are needed to move beyond privatization. Her paper explored the current and historical operation of Canadian Crown corporations in a range of socio-economic areas (relating to land, labour, capital, and infrastructure), and provides future strategies for revitalizing the purpose of public enterprise.
