Who is Heard in Canadian Policymaking?

This week we feature another paper discussing the dynamics of policymaking, this time in the Canadian context. Dr. Bryan Evans (Ryerson University, Canada) examines the state of policy 'co-production' in Ontario, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan to determine the degree to which non-governmental actors are engaged in policymaking. The extent to which voices outside of the state - and perhaps more importantly, which voices - are heard shapes the information and concerns which go into problem definition, policy design, and implementation, and therefore is of great significance to austerity and its policy ecology.
