Nov 22, 2017
The Department will be hosting a one-day writing retreat on Friday, December 8 in Wilson Hall 1013. Graduate students working on thesis/dissertation/paper writing are strongly encouraged to attend. We will gather together in a room with our computers and do 3 sessions of no-distractions writing. Each session will be made up of 4 x 25 minutes of writing with 5-minute breaks after each 25-minute block.
Three things to consider:
- You will get a shocking amount of writing done in this time.
- The department is picking up the tab for pizza, snacks, and drinks.
- See points 1 and 2.
- You are welcome to attend only one or two sessions if that’s all you can manage.
Of course, faculty are most welcome to attend.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
Session one: 10 a.m. - 12 noon
Break for lunch - pizza
Session two 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Break for coffee.
Session three 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
6 p.m. - Phoenix?
Please confirm with Dr. Mark Rowe (even if you have already) that you would like to participate. Please let him know any dietary requests at this time.
