Introducing CRESS Fellow - Allison Leanage

Sponsored and supervised by Dr. Marisa Young, Allison Leanage has been a research assistant at McMaster University and collaborated with Dr. John Fox on an article titled ‘R and the Journal of Statistical Software’. Allison is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Sociology.
Not only has Allison been a research assistant at McMaster, but she has also been a Teaching Assistant for the quantitative methods Sociology course. Allison states that she enjoys teaching statistics courses and plans to teach more stats courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Sociology in the future.
Her research work revolves around a quantitative project on children and youth in Canada surrounding their mental through social contexts of education, family, and community dynamics. Allison says that she wants to “gain more knowledge surrounding the various quantitative methodologies, the complexities and assumptions of linear and non-linear models and the conceptualization of the information of data through the CRESS Graduate Fellowship"
