February hours changes, Saturday hours on-demand, and a new data set.

Hours Changes

Please note the upcoming changes to the usual centre operating hours this month:

  • CLOSED on Monday Feb. 17th for Family Day  

 

Saturday Hours - On Demand

This month we will be offering some on-demand Saturday hours.  Please let the Analysts know if you wish to work in the RDC on any of the following Saturdays. We will be open on an 'appointment' basis, only if requested. Please email Anna at rdc3@mcmaster.ca, or write your name on the sign-up sheet by the front door in the RDC. (Please sign up by the preceding Thursday.)

Offered dates for Saturday hours are:

  • Saturday, February 29th - 12pm to 4pm

  

New data sets at the RDC: 

Canadian Internet Use Survey (CIUS)

The main objective of the 2018 Canadian Internet Use Survey (CIUS) is to gather information to better understand the adoption and use of digital technologies and the online behaviors of Canadians. Information gathered will help to better understand how individuals use the Internet, including their intensity of use, demand for certain online activities, and interactions online.
 

The 2018 Canadian Internet Use Survey (CIUS) measures access to the Internet and the online behaviours of individual residents of Canada 15 years of age and over, living in the provinces. The survey is built off the previous iteration of the CIUS, last conducted in 2012. The 2018 iteration has been redesigned and modernized to increase international comparability, answer government policy-relevant questions, and measure a wider range of online activities, given the rapid pace at which the Internet has evolved.

The CIUS examines, use of online government services, use of social networking websites or apps, smartphone use, digital skills, e-commerce, online work, and security, privacy and trust as it relates to the Internet.
