New data sets at the RDC:
In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre. Please see the information below. Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!
Canadian Financial Capability Survey (CFCS) 2014
The Canadian Financial Capability Survey (CFCS) 2014 is a survey exploring the degree of knowledge that Canadians possess regarding financial decision- making. This cross-sectional survey targeted all persons aged 18 and over in Canada, with the exceptions of those living in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Yukon. Sampling was based on the current Labour Force Survey design. Participants were asked about their understanding of their financial situations, financial services available to them, their future plans, approaches to day-to-day money management, and longer-term money management and financial planning.
The previous version of this survey was released in 2009; the 2014 version of the CFCS retained the 2009 content, but also added content from new survey partners (the Bank of Canada and Finance Canada). Researchers conducting work on household assets, spending, savings, incomes, pensions, and wealth may be interested in this data set.
